Brucita

La brucita es un minerau de color variabla (incolòr, verd, blau, jaune-ròsa ò brun) qu'a una duretat de 2,5 e una densitat de 2,4. Es format d'idroxid de magnèsi (simbòl quimic : Mg(OH)2) cristallizat segon un sistèma trigonau de classa ditrigonala escalenoedrica. Dins la natura, lei cristaus son rars e an una forma tabulara pseudoexagonala. Pasmens, la brucita forma sovent de massas microcristallinas. Son esclat es sedós.

Aqueu minerau se troba generalament dins de venas idrotermalas de temperatura bassa dins lei ròcas serpentinosas. Pòu tanben se formar a partir de l'alteracion de la periclasa. Es sovient associat ambé de carbonats de magnèsi, l'aragonita, la cromita e lo crisòtil. A doas utilizacions principalas que son l'extraccion de magnèsi e la fabricacion de retardadors de flama.
