Blenda

La blenda ò esfalerita es un minerau de color jaune resina, brun ò brun rogenc a l'estat pur e tirant sus lo negre en preséncia d'impuretats ferricas. A una duretat de 3,5-4,0 e una densitat de 3,9-4,2. Es formada de sulfur de zinc (simbòl quimic : ZnS) cristallizat segon un sistèma cubic de classa exacisoctaedrica. Dins la natura, forma de cristaus tetraedrics[1] ò de massas granularas. Son esclat es adamantin, submetallic ò resinós.
Se troba generalament dins de jaciments idrotermaus e pus rarament dins de venas de pegmatitas ò de maubres. Es associat ambé d'autrei mineraus coma la wurzita, la galena, l'argentita e la calcopirita e a de mineraus de ganga coma lo qüars, la calcita, la fluorina ò la barita. La wurzita es principalament utilizada coma minerau de zinc. D'autrei metaus presents coma impuretats (fèrre, cadmi, galli ò indi) ne'n son tanben extrachs.
