Localisacion
L'akoko es parlat dins la zòna de govèrn local d'Akoko Nòrd de l'Estat de 'Ondo e dins aquela de Kogi dins l'Estat de kwara[1].
Classificacion
L'akoko constituís una branca isolada dins l'ensem de las lengas vòlta-nigèr[1]. La lenga es en fach un continuum dialèctal, que los membres ne'n son l'afa, l'arigidi, l'esuru, l'ese, l'igasi, l'oge, l'ojo, l'oyin, l'udo, l'uro[2].
