Solstis adalah satu peristiwa astronomi yang berlaku sebanyak dua kali setiap tahun apabila kedudukan nyata Matahari di langit mencecah hampir dengan titik paling utara atau paling selatan bumi. Nama kejadian ini berasal daripada bahasa Latin iaitu gabungan perkataan sol (matahari) dengan sistere (untuk berdiam diri). Semasa solstis, matahari berdiri tetap dalam kecondongan iaitu pergerakan laluan utara atau selatan matahari yang berhenti sebelum membalikkan arah.

Sebutan solstis juga digunakan untuk membawa maksud yang lebih luas seperti tarikh (hari) apabila keadaan ini berlaku. Solstis bersama dengan ekuinoks berkait rapat dengan kejadian pelbagai musim di bumi.
