Selenium tetrafluorida (SeF4) ialah sejenis kimia inorganik.Ia sejenis cecair tidak berwarna yang boleh tindak balas dengan air.Ia digunakan untuk fluoronasi kimia organik.Selenium tetrafluorida lebih selamat daripada sulfur tetrafluorida kerana selenium tetrafluorida ialah cecair tetapi sulfur tetrafluorida ialah gas.
Penghasilan
Selenium tetrafluorida pada asalnya disiapkan oleh Paul Lebeau pada tahun 1907 melalui reaksi selenium dan fluorin:[1]
- Se + 2 F2 → SeF4
Kemudian, terdapat laporan kaedah penyediaan yang lebih sederhana, seperti fluorinasi sulfur tetrafluorida hingga selenium dioksida:[2]
- SF4 + SeO2 → SeF4 + SO2
Tindak balas melalui selenil fluorida perantaraan(SeOF2).
