Pooideae merupakan subfamili terbesar dalam keluarga rumput Poaceae, dengan kira-kira 4,000 spesies dalam 15 tribu dan lebih kurang 200 genus. Mereka termasuk beberapa cereal utama seperti gandum, barli, katun, rye dan banyak lagi rumput laman dan padang. Mereka sering dirujuk sebagai rumput musim sejuk, kerana mereka terdapat di iklim beriklim sederhana.[1] Semuanya menggunakan laluan fotosintesis C3.

Pooideae merupakan sister group kepada buluh dalam clade BOP, dan dibahagikan kepada 15 tribu.[1]
