Perumah

Tikus hitam ialah perumah wabak bubonik: kutu dibawa tikus ini adalah vektor untuk penyakit ini yang memakan dalam haiwan tersebut.

Dalam biologi dan perubatan, perumah merupakan organisma pembawa parasit, mutualistik, atau komensalis (simbion) yang lazim mempunyai sumber makanan dan tempat perlindungan yanh ideal untuk hidupan yang menumpang dengannya - antara contohnya haiwan perumah parasit cacing (contohnya nematod), sel-sel perumah virus patogenik ataupun tumbuhan kekacang mutualistik bersama bakteria pengikat nitrogen.[1][2][3]

Tumbuhan perumah membekalkan sumber makanan kepada mikropemangsa yang mempunyai hubungan evolusi yang stabil dengan perumah mereka seumpama ektoparasitisme. Sesekor organisma itu boleh mempunyai perumah pelbagai spesis dan jenis yang boleh meneruskan kebergantungan ia kepada suatu keperluan asas yang penting.
