Kutu ialah nama biasa untuk lebih 5000 spesies serangga tidak bersayap dalam order Phthiraptera; tiga daripadanya diklasifikasikan sebagai pembawa penyakit kepada manusia. Kutu menjadi parasit kepada setiap burung dan mamalia kecuali Monotreme (platipus dan echidna), kelawar, paus, dolfin, ikan lumba-lumba dan tenggiling.
