Library Genesis

Library Genesis atau LibGen merupakan enjin carian untuk artikel dan buku dalam pelbagai subjek, [1] yang membenarkan akses percuma ke atas kandungan yang dikenakan bayaran atau yang tidak didigitalkan lagi.[2] LibGen turut menyimpan kandungan PDF dari pangkalan data Elsevier, ScienceDirect.[3]

Pada tahun 2015, LibGen terbabit dengan kes legal antara LibGen dengan Elsevier yang menuduh LibGen melanggar hak cipta dengan memberi akses artikel dan buku.[3] LibGen dilaporkan telah mendaftar di Rusia dan Belanda, menjadikannya tidak jelas mengenai undang-undang terpakai,[3][4]LibGen telah disekat oleh beberapa pembekal khidmat Internet di United Kingdom,[5] namun sekatan berasaskan DNS didakwa tidak mampu mengurangkan akses kepada LibGen.[3] Pada penghujung Oktober 2015, mahkamah daerah New York memerintahkan LibGen menamatkan operasinya dan menghapuskan domain libgen.org,[6] namun, ia masih boleh diakses menggunakan domain yang lain.[7][8]

Sehingga Julai 2016, pangkalan data ini mengandungi lebih 52 juta artikel dari kira-kira 50,000 penerbitan.[9]
