Alaha

Alaha (Ālōho) (ܐܠܗܐ dalam Skrip Syriak) bermaksud Satu Tuhan dalam Aramia (Syriak). Sesetengah ilmuwan percaya bahawa bahasa Arab الله Allah diperoleh daripada istilah Syriak untuk Tuhan. Kedua-dua istilah berkaitan dengan Tuhan Abraham (ܐܒܪܗܡ) dan nabi-nabi (ܐܢܒܝܐ) yang berikut.

Menurut kepada kitab Genesis, Abraham menjumpai monoteisme (kepercayaan kepada Tuhan yang Esa) semasa baginda berada di Ur di mana dewa utamanya ialah Sin, dewa bulan. Bahagian daripada Bible Ibrani (Hebrew Bible) merujuk kepada Tuhan Abraham sebagai Yahweh, atau Yah untuk ringkasan. Nama ini telah dibandingkan kepada Iah, dewa purnama dari Mesir Purba.
