Olyra lancifolia Mez

Agnesia adalah sebuah genus buluh herba dari Amerika Selatan dalam keluarga rumput.[2][3]

Ia dinamakan sebagai penghormatan kepada agrostologis (pakar botani dalam bidang rumput) Mary Agnes Chase (1869-1963).

Satu-satunya spesies yang diketahui adalah Agnesia lancifolia, yang berasal dari hutan hujan tropika tanah rendah di Brazil, Colombia dan Peru.[4][5]

Agnesia lancifolia adalah herba saka dengan 7-10 batang setiap rumpun, setiap satu mencapai ketinggian sehingga 50 cm. Daun bawah tiada bilah atau bilahnya kurang dari 5 mm panjang; daun atas dengan bilah sehingga 16 cm panjang. Setiap batang mempunyai 1-6 rasem di hujung batang atau dari ketiak daun atas, bunga pistillate (betina) dan staminate (jantan) dalam spikelet yang berbeza pada tumbuhan yang sama.[5][6]
