Tihamér Gyarmathy naskiĝis la 8-an de marto 1915 en Pécs. Li mortis la 9-an de januaro 2005 en Budapeŝto.
Biografio
Tihamér Gyarmathy frekventis ĉeflernejon inter 1933-1937, kie li lernis pentradon de János Vaszary. Poste li studvojaĝis al Italio, Francio kaj Germanio, kie li konatiĝis kun Piet Mondrian kaj Hans Arp. Hejmenveninta depost 1948 pro dominado de komunistoj li ne ricevis artajn eblecojn, tial li devis labori kiel simpla laboristo. En la 1960-aj jaroj li denove rajtis pentradi kaj ekspozicii, eĉ ankaŭ eksterlande. En la sekva jardeko li denove studvojaĝis eksterlande. Li ricevis premion Kossuth en 1990, precipe pli frue ankaŭ aliajn (eĉ eksterlandajn) premiojn.
