Richard Anthony Proctor (23a de Marto 1837 – 12a de Septembro 1888) estis angla astronomo. Li estas plej bone memorata pro la produktado de unu el la plej fruaj mapoj de Marso en 1867 el 27 desegnoj fare de la angla observanto William Rutter Dawes. Lia mapo estis poste superita de tiuj de Giovanni Schiaparelli kaj Eugène Antoniadi kaj lia nomenklaturo estis forfalita (ekzemple lia "Kaiser Maro" iĝis Syrtis Major Planum).

Li uzis malnovajn desegnojn de Marso datitajn el 1666 por klopodi determini la sideran tagon de Marso. Lia fina ĉirkaŭkalkulo, en 1873, estis 24h 37m 22.713s, tre proksima al la nuntempa valoro de 24h 37m 22.663s.[1][2][3]
