Foveo

La fovea centralis, ĝenerale konata kiel foveo (la termino fovea devenas el la latina, signife "truo"), estas parto de la okulo, situanta centre de la regiono nome macula de la retino (aŭ macula lutea el latina termino macula, "makulo" + lutea, "flava", kaj nomiĝas flava makulo). - [1] - [2] La foveo estas responsa por akra centra vidado (nome ankaŭ fovea vido), kio necesas ĉe homoj por legado, rigardi televidon aŭ filmojn, ŝoforado, kaj ĉiu ajn agado, kie vidaj detaloj estas ege gravaj.
