Question from ByeByePapaya (13:32, 30 May 2026)

Help! Can you delete a page that I've just created? It's at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Blasucci. I moved it from my user sandbox instead of submitting it (I got confused about the draft title), so now the article has all my past sandbox edits in the history. I don't want that! I will submit the Sam Blasucci page again when this version has been wiped. If that is possible. --ByeByePapaya (talk) 13:32, 30 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I have now submitted the article properly as a draft page. Can it be used to supersede the existing page which originates from my user sandbox? ByeByePapaya (talk) 13:54, 30 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@ByeByePapaya: Hi! The article Sam Blasucci is now a live article, it's just waiting review by the new pages patrol before it is indexed by search engines. We have to preserve the entire editing history of the article due to copyright reasons; if you're wondering why, the page Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia has more details. So unfortunately we can't remove the history from the article. If I may ask, why do you not want the history in the article? Happy editing, Relativity ⚡️ 18:34, 3 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for taking a look. The page history includes past edits I made in my user sandbox when I created another page on a completely different topic – hopefully the majority of Wikipedia users will not be delving into this, but it might be weird or confusing for anyone who does! I will just accept this as a lesson learned. In future, I will draft and submit new pages in a different way! ByeByePapaya (talk) 20:26, 4 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
