Marcus Bachmann
It's possible, but we'd have to wait for the story to be picked up in a reliable source. I don't think Gawker is considered reliable, and in any case it's just quoting from someone's personal blog. Roscelese (talk ⋅ contribs) 20:38, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
Please not that most of the information on the Bachmann page about Marcus Bachmann is self-reported from his own website, with no external verification. That seems to be less reliable than Gawker.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Byron Sunderland, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page First Presbyterian Church (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Question about Theodore Dwight
HI! Someone (I think you?) posted on the Theodore Dwight's page "Senator Henry Cabot Lodge's wife Anna Cabot Mills Davis advised Sally not to marry Dwight after the engagement was announced because of Dwight's reputation as a homosexual." The citation is to a letter from Henry Adams to Elizabeth Cameron. Do you know where you got this info from? Does Adams discuss the advice from Davis to Sally in the letter? Thank you Cathistorian (talk) 21:47, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
- Interesting question. Thanks! Yes, Dwight and Adams were housemates in Washington, DC, for several years (see article for details). There was little about Dwight he did not know. Dwight's homosexuality was well known in Boston, Henry Adams's hometown (see bibliography items for Austen and Shand-Tucci). It would be impossible for Henry Adams, Anna Lodge, or anyone else in that circle not to know, and if they all knew Dwight was homosexual, why would a warning not to marry him have been for any other reason? Limerick007 (talk) 18:14, 24 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi! Thank you for your reply! It totally makes sense that the warning was for this reason. My question was more where you got this piece of information from? Was it from the letter between Adams and Cameron? I'm trying to find that letter and having trouble finding it. 66.244.80.182 (talk) 06:16, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
- Because there's no citation for a letter between Lodge and Loring, so I guess Adams must have mentioned this conversation in his letter? 66.244.80.182 (talk) 06:19, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
- The conversation between Anna Lodge and Sally Loring is documented in a letter from Henry Adams to Elizabeth Cameron, cited in note 42 in the article.
- Henry Adams to Elizabeth Cameron, letter dated October 19, 1895, Letters of Henry Adams, Vol. IV, p. 339. Limerick007 (talk) 10:37, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you! I really appreciate your answer. 66.244.80.182 (talk) 10:51, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
