https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2026%E2%80%9327_AFC_Challenge_League&diff=prev&oldid=1357875577 (vandalism despite latest sources presented) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Эльдар Шукоров (talkcontribs) 11:51, 5 June 2026 (UTC)

So, provide your source. I cannot see any source in your edit. KyleRGiggs (talk) 18:31, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
You now provided a source which is "https://www.flashscore.com/football/asia/afc-challenge-league/#/IJxolPTg/draw/", which is a betting-related website. We need a reliable source, which is the best to be AFC official website. When AFC took the draw? I don't know. As a result, I will once more revert that edit. If you insist to accuse this as a vandalism, I will report for a request block as you are violating both WP:RS and WP:AGF. KyleRGiggs (talk) 18:36, 5 June 2026 (UTC)

https://www.flashscore.com/football/asia/afc-challenge-league/fixtures/ source (please revert any further fixture change if unsourced) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Эльдар Шукоров (talkcontribs) 19:40, 5 June 2026 (UTC)

Um, Kyle just pointed out that that domain is a gambling site ... hardly a reliable source. And neither do we use our own articles as sources. Daniel Case (talk) 22:54, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
It is not actually a gambling site, but at least it is not an official source. We need the sources provided by Asian Football Confederation, either official website or any official social media including YouTube. His source is neither one. KyleRGiggs (talk) 23:23, 5 June 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protection:

Reason: Persistant disruption by various IP accounts for POV pushing in a infobox image caption name of a mountain (Girnar). Per MOS:SPECIFICLINK and WP:COMMONNAME the caption should be the direct article name of the place i.e. Girnar itself by its article title name, which was there until various IP accounts emerge after some time period and try to push their religious name in the title of this place. For your context, this place also has ancient Ashoka's Rock Edicts, ancient Uperkot fort and Ropeway for tourism too as per the page. But these IPs want to change the title name as per their Pov. Also if you look at their contributions, you'll find the same cohort of pages being edited per their Pov (including using of Chatgpt generated links and later removing the part from the url, using non-RS sub-standard sources and changing info for Pov pushing without any RS source etc.) So requesting Semi-protection for this page. Semi-protected indefinitely. Daniel Case (talk) 00:30, 9 June 2026 (UTC)

Reason: High level of IP vandalism. I know I requested this yesterday and it got rejected because his death was confirmed but IP vandalism is still happening and the speculation I mentioned yesterday wasn’t about him dying, it was about IPs continuously adding speculative material about his place of death mainly. Some more IPs have continued to do so since the request was declined yesterday. TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 13:15, 6 June 2026 (UTC)

Further to comment, there are IPs still adding unsourced material or wrong information with numerous reverts (speculative death place, incorrect middle name, still reverting sourced material, etc.) Article is also listed on main page so might be prone to further vandalism TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 15:59, 6 June 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of six months, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Autologged at CTOPS. Daniel Case (talk) 00:49, 9 June 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Unconfirmed users (likely the same person) keeps reverting edits even though it is completely sourced properly. The edits this user(s) are creating are incorrect and myself and other users keep reverting there edits back almost daily. I've already reached out on there talk page and warned them to stop. This person or persons also bossed people on the talk page. Here is what they said: Who is replacing Shannon, Please add the former members section on the list of Toto members, Can you do it right now?, Please put Keith as a tour member right now today. The user(s) in offense are non-confirmed users but there usernames are ~2026-19714-70 and ~2026-33527-46. I'm humbly asking to increase the protection for this page to a semi-protected page to avoid this user or users for just creating temporary accounts and messing up this page daily. Thanks! Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent vandalism by TAs. Bikram96 (talk) 06:18, 7 June 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Since the page's last protection ended in May 2025, most IP edits have been non-constructive. However, I don't believe the disruption is high enough for indefinite semi-protection. Maybe pending changes could work instead? OwenCobalt (talk) 07:20, 7 June 2026 (UTC)

@OwenCobalt I think indef WP:PCP is the better option. The article has been a target since Adam met Eve, but the level of disruption doesn't warrant a full-blown IP/TA block. Giovanni Potage (talk) 04:49, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – There has been an increase in disruptive editing on this article since her death. Some IP editors and accounts have changed the wording to suggest she is still alive, and these edits have needed repeated reversion. ItsShandog (talk) 07:35, 7 June 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Apparently, some random user "somehow" vandalised this page. It's to do with Henry's parents that are "abusive." So can you please undo this edit and protect the page, please? I think it's to do with disruptive editing. Thank you! EucalyGuard (talk) 10:03, 7 June 2026 (UTC)

It is the second time that this person engages in canvassing with this old time editor so that they can push their nationalist POV. The latter one pretty much tolerates it. This blocked user also vandalized Voisava Kastrioti some time ago. ~2026-33974-09 (talk) 20:03, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

Reason: I am requesting page protection due to repeated editing disputes in the lead-up to the upcoming municipal election. Several recent edits have introduced contentious and potentially defamatory material about Mayor Harvie that appears to rely on limited local media coverage and may not satisfy Wikipedia's standards for neutrality, due weight, and verifiability.

Multiple editors have repeatedly restored this content despite ongoing concerns regarding sourcing, balance, and compliance with Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy. This has resulted in a cycle of repeated reversion and dispute over the article's content.

Given the heightened political interest surrounding the upcoming election, temporary page protection may help prevent further disruption and allow editors to discuss disputed content through established Wikipedia processes before making additional substantive changes to the article. ~2026-33747-97 (talk) 19:24, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level

Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level

seraphimblade, you protected this page at a time when the subject of this article was in the process of no longer holding a prominent role in life. That protection was reasonable at the moment since unverified or poorly verified edits went into that article within short periods of time. However, I believe that protection isn't necessary anymore because that was 10 years ago. Furthermore, the last edit to that page happened nearly a couple years ago, which may imply that the possibility of disruptive edits to that page is low. What do you think?~2026-33236-94 (talk) 22:33, 5 June 2026 (UTC)

This is not the user's talk page, which you should have posted this request on. - The Bushranger One ping only 02:57, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
Pinging protecting admin, @Seraphimblade. Giovanni Potage (talk) 13:18, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
I don't see any indication here of what edits the editor asking for unprotection here wants to make or what sources support them. I think I would like to know that before agreeing to removing the protection when the protection was for a BLP problem. Seraphimblade Talk to me 17:08, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
@Seraphimblade From the looks of it, protection was mainly the result of a skirmish between an anon and an experienced editor over mentioning Shahinian's medical license being revoked. At the time (and this still might be the case), no reputable sources bothered to write about that. Giovanni Potage (talk) 04:20, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
I found this article, but not sure if it meets the WP:RS requirements necessary to warrant coverage on a BLP article. Giovanni Potage (talk) 04:25, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
@Giovanni Potage: That's from the Metropolitan News-Enterprise, which has come up on RSN a couple of times and appears to be considered reliable. - The Bushranger One ping only 04:56, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
Thanks for answering! MNE being a reputable source doesn't surprise me since they have an editorial team, but I wanted to be cautious. Giovanni Potage (talk) 04:59, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
If there's now good source material available, I don't have a problem with trying unprotection for a bit. Though I'll certainly be putting it back if BLP violations start up again. Seraphimblade Talk to me 16:50, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

Autopatrolled

Hello folks! Till date, I have created about 45 mainspace articles; mostly films, web series, biographies, places of worship and a historical landmark (my most recent creation). I would love to have the Autopatrolled rights; and it might help prevent the piling up of the NPR backlog, even just by a bit. And I believe I am qualified for this. If I am judged ineligible, I would be happy to work upon myself if my shortcomings are pointed out. Thanks! BhikhariInformer (talk) 11:28, 28 May 2026 (UTC)

@BhikhariInformer Could you explain why you used [11] in Basu Bati. Sohom (talk) 04:24, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
Although it's not equivalent to a major newspaper or journal, I used it cuz it appeared to be a specialised history publication rather than a personal blog. They publish bylined articles, and from what I could gather, the authors appear to be real people with relevant academic backgrounds. And this article contained detailed information about Basu Bati's history. If there are concerns regarding the source's reliability, I'd be grateful if you could point 'em out, as I used it in good faith and would like to improve my source evaluation. BhikhariInformer 📮 (Ping me or else I won't see it) 05:03, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
{{not done}} @BhikhariInformer (CC @Sohom Datta): it's a brand website. See the very bottom of the page: "Your source for unique home decor and furnishings that blend modern design with traditional Indian craftsmanship. Responsibly sourced from over 11,000 artisans, our products reflect authenticity, sustainability, and fine craftsmanship. Discover the beauty of India with Peepul Tree." I'm sure you used the source in good faith, but this indicates to me that NPP review is still necessary. voorts (talk/contributions) 17:21, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
(Non-administrator comment) @Voorts I'm sorry, but I do not really agree with your analysis of that source; Sanjana Ray is in fact an established journalist specialising in lifestyle and probably culture. While PeepulTree appears to be "Your source for unique home decor and furnishings...", I think the website for that branding and whatever is mostly peepultree.world and not livehistoryindia.com; the latter is a website where they publish well-researched articles relating to their niche. In fact, I find the piece to be a well-researched publication by a subject-matter expert, and in livehistoryindia credit, I consider it an excellent, high-quality editorial platform for history enthusiasts, students, cultural explorers, you name it. This is entirely my own opinion and I hope it helps. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 19:10, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
I'll let another admin review it. voorts (talk/contributions) 19:38, 30 May 2026 (UTC)

Good morning/day/evening my fellow Wikipedians. After 15 years, 200k+ edits and creating a lot of stuff here I think it is time to apply for Autopatrolled permission. I have created about 200 list articles and 150+ other main space articles, mostly biographies. All of them are properly sourced, formatted, and comply with core policies (notability, verifiability, BLP, copyright) even the stubs. Although I love all my children I'm especially proud of next WIR contributions:

Currently I am focussing on Wikispecies-related topics so the last 350+ 'pages' are soft redirects to Wikisecies. As you can see in the logs there haven't been any major issues. Thank you for your time. Kind regards, Mill 1 (talk) 20:17, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
(Non-administrator comment) I recommended to @Mill 1 that they apply for autopatroller. They mentioned that new NPP's nominating their soft directs to deletion (which I am also guilty of doing), and it would save everyone time if they were granted autopatroller. They've created over 8000 pages, and only 72 have been deleted.
EaglesFan37 (talk) 22:13, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
Hi, What is the status of my application? It has been a week already and I had to remove speedy deletion tags from new soft redirect pages yet again. I believe this was NPP-er number 5 or 6. Kind Regards,Mill 1 (talk) 17:56, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
@Mill 1: If people are nominating pages you're creating for SD, why should I grant AP? What SD criteria are they using and why do you think they're wrong? Please provide some examples. voorts (talk/contributions) 12:21, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
Fair question. It exclusively envolves SD nominations regarding soft redirect pages. I created a lot of them lately (example). Some of the newer NPP-ers are unfamiliair with the soft redirect guidelines resulting in SD nominations. This topic on my Talk page pretty much sums it up. Mill 1 (talk) 12:37, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
Some examples + argumentation: 1, 2, 3. Again, these are not 'real' pages which should be the focus of this application.

79 articles created, zero deleted. Creations look excellent. ~ A412 talk! 04:46, 4 June 2026 (UTC)

Thanks @A412!
Really appreciate the "creations look excellent". Wish I could say that about my cupcakes when I decide to do some baking.
Saw this nomination in my alerts and was pleasantly surprised. If others feels this user right is a good thing to have, great! If not, fine, too! Whatever helps those editors who do the diligent, and thankless, work behind the scenes works for me.

Hi. I've created 26 pages on the English Wikipedia, mostly relating to New Zealand plants. I also frequently create redirects for the common names of plants. Alexeyevitch(talk) 05:10, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

I want to reapply for Autopatroller, to contribute further for creating new good quality articles, as long as I have reflected latest things happend before and i got an big lesson to not comment/accept new pages more via ip user without letting know. I appreciate any decission. Thank you for your attention. Lanceloth345 (talk) 11:37, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

Courtesy pings for the granting admin Arcticocean and the revoking admin Tamzin; note previous requests in July 2025 (declined) and in March 2026 (accepted). Lanceloth, the evidence presented in your SPI is not looking great for you, and in my opinion indicates that your creations are in need of monitoring from new pages patrol. Even leaving aside the behavioral concerns, I noticed there was a red citation (using a highlighting script) on Stine (singer); following the thread to this RSN discussion which you participated in shows a lot of arguments you made that don't seem to demonstrate understanding of our sourcing guidelines. Pending changes reviewer

Reason for requesting pending changes reviewer rights Hello. I'd like to request the ability to accept or decline pending changes on both of my accounts (User:Wikipedian12512 and User:Wikipedian12512(alt). I've read the relevant policies (BLP, Vandalism, Copyright Violations, etc.), and think that I could do a reasonable (to start, I'd probably get better over time) job. Thank you! Wikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 13:07, 28 May 2026 (UTC)

To be clear, this would be for both my accounts. In solidarityWikipedian12512 (Talking is fine | contribs) 17:04, 29 May 2026 (UTC)

I often do anti-vandalism and during the course of that task I often come across pending changes, I belive myself capable with aiding in this task, and wish to help out. Pyrrhic victor (what did I do) 16:22, 4 June 2026 (UTC)

Hello, I'd like to request the pending changes reviewer right. I'd like to use this to make sure no vandalism occurs and to help around. Thank you! Ari 1600 out 🇺🇲🇭🇳 01:56, 5 June 2026 (UTC)

Hello folks! I am requesting the pending changes reviewer rights. I wish to deal with the concerned pages — accepting or refusing pending changes, particularly, to handle the unsourced edits and COI vandalism. Thank you! BhikhariInformer 📮 (Ping me or else I won't see it) 05:38, 5 June 2026 (UTC)

I'm requesting this right to fight vandalism in PCR-protected articles. I have read the policies and have a basic understanding. This means I can deal with not-that-simple vandalism such as citation to ads and inserting AI-slop, which might be more common in PCR-protected articles. -- Least Action (talk) 14:08, 5 June 2026 (UTC)

OK, I've reviewed what I was told at my last request. I now have over 200 mainspace edits. I've tried singing up to CVU/A, and now I'm just waiting. Requesting rollback permissions to try AntiVandal, Interceptor, and Huggle. And everything else. Patrolling RecentChanges seems to be the only thing I do nowadays, and I would like rollback to be able to fight vandals better. AZenit3 [Chat?-stuff I've done] 01:47, 25 May 2026 (UTC)

Been patrolling recent changes for some time now with Twinkle, and I would like to try using more advanced tools like Huggle which require this permission. TheNerdzilla (talk) 13:45, 29 May 2026 (UTC)

I've been using Twinkle for reporting potential SPs, creating deletion discussions and for notifying new users of unsourced edits. I'm requesting permission to the rollback tool as it'd assist me in reverting vandalism and malicious edits. Retro music11 (talk) 20:47, 30 May 2026 (UTC)

Hello. I have rollback in my account at Simple Wikipedia. Having tried this evening to counter the activities of ~2026-33439-05 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), I think it would be useful to have rollback here too. I work almost exclusively on cricket articles at present, and it is a subject that frequently attracts vandals. Thanks. Jack (talk) 19:28, 6 June 2026 (UTC)

I have been a Pending changes reviewer and would like to have Rollback right to enhance my ability to counter vandalism as well as to use new tools it provides like Interceptor. AristocrSirr22 (talk) 07:31, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
