Shahada?

Should the white shahada flag still be listed on the infobox? Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 23:37, 10 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Since when did shahada flag an official syrian flag of peace? Eliaszikra199412 (talk) 12:05, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Eliaszikra199412 11 December 2024, unofficially. It's not a flag for peace nor extremism when used in this context too. Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 21:39, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Of course not!! That Al kaeeda flag! Dimakhoukaz (talk) 12:30, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Striked the comment as it is not the Al Qaeda flag, nor does it have anything to do with it. Marking it as indiscriminate. Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 14:40, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

The same in contrast colour!! Dimakhoukaz (talk) 12:51, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

What is the official status of that flag in Syria? Our article says nothing about it and its use in the infobox is unsourced. Unless suitable source is provided, it should be removed from the infobox. Pavlor (talk) 13:16, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Pavlor: It's not official, it's listed as de facto on the infobox. I will be adding two sources showing the Shahada in de facto official use and one used by civilians. Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 13:50, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging for a clearer response: @HurricaneEdgar @Panam2014 @RamiPat @Abo Yemen Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 13:48, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
We need a source. Panam2014 (talk) 13:49, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
nope. It is only being used unofficially now 𐩣𐩫𐩧𐩨 Abo Yemen (𓃵) 13:50, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
No. If the government uses it as a secondary flag, then it can be described in the article as de facto. However, since the government does not use it, there is nothing to add here. The flag became prominent when Syria celebrated the anniversary of the fall of the Assad regime, but the government has not confirmed whether it is a secondary flag. Similarly, in Iran, the Iranian opposition uses the pre-1979 flag, but the Islamic regime does not recognize it and has banned it. HurricaneEdgar 14:03, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Without source, the flag should be removed. Panam2014 (talk) 14:12, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the shahada as there has been unanimous support (excluding and including uncivil users) to remove it from the infobox. Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 14:11, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Whoever you are, THANK YOU!! ~2026-24792-7 (talk) 14:34, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Striked the comment as it's indiscriminate (I don't think it's civil to congratulate over the removal of a flag with Islamic text that you believe is bad) Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 14:38, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Construction Sheet

The construction sheet found on the page is not official. It should be either removed entirely or noted to be such. Kaislash (talk) 14:26, 14 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Construction sheets do not need to be official. NeoSyria\Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 18:01, 9 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Current flag adoption date?

I'm wondering why the adoption date of the current flag is 2006, because of how the independence flag from 1930 is the same say for the aspect ratio any explanations? KreamoNoBrainos/Kreamy/Fat Man (talk) 13:56, 17 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

The 1930 flag has an asepct ratio of 1:2 instead of 2:3 Kaislash (talk) 08:49, 7 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
