Pathankot (Panjabi ਪਠਾਨਕੋਟ) ist eine Stadt (Municipal Corporation) im indischen Bundesstaat Punjab.

Pathankot ist die Distrikthauptstadt des gleichnamigen Distrikts, der 2011 aus dem Distrikt Gurdaspur herausgelöst wurde. Beim Zensus 2011 betrug die Einwohnerzahl 156.306.[2] Pathankot liegt auf einer Höhe von 337 m am Fuße der Siwaliks. Der Chakki Khad, ein rechter Nebenfluss des Beas, strömt östlich an Pathankot vorbei.

Pathankot ist ein Verkehrsknotenpunkt im Nordwesten Indiens. Die Stadt verfügt über einen Flughafen. Mehrere Eisenbahnlinien führen an Pathankot vorbei.

Klima

Das Klima in Pathankot ist subtropisch. In den Sommermonaten Juli und August, während der Monsunzeit, fallen die meisten Niederschläge. Der durchschnittliche Jahresniederschlag beträgt 1426 mm. Die Jahresmitteltemperatur liegt bei 23,2 °C.
