Msambara ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Kasulu (TC) in der tansanischen Region Kigoma.

Geografie

Msambara ist ein städtischer Bezirk in der Seezone im Nordwesten von Tansania. Er liegt am nordöstlichen Stadtrand der Distrikthauptstadt Kasulu und etwa 70 Kilometer Luftlinie nordöstlich der Regionshauptstadt Kigoma.[1] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 23.610 Menschen in 4641 Haushalten[2] auf einer Fläche von 86 Quadratkilometern.[3]

Der Bezirk grenzt im Nordosten an den Distrikt Kasulu und sonst an sechs Bezirke des Distrikts Kasulu (TC):[4]

Wirtschaft und Infrastruktur

  • Bewässerung: In Msambara befindet sich das einzige Bewässerungssystem des Distrikts. Es versorgt 255 Nutzer, die hauptsächlich Mais, Kartoffeln, Bohnen, Gartenfrüchte und in der Trockenzeit Bananen anbauen.[5]
  • Bildung: Im Bezirk liegen drei weiterführende Schulen.[6] Die Kigoma Grand Secondary School[7] und die Muka Secondary School[8] sind staatliche koedukative Schulen, die Mavuno Girls Secondary School[9] ist eine Privatschule für Mädchen.
  • Gesundheit: In Msambara gibt es eine private Apotheke.[10]
