Malout (Panjabi ਮਲੋਟ) ist eine Stadt (Municipal Council) im indischen Bundesstaat Punjab.

Die Stadt liegt knapp 30 km östlich von Abohar sowie 42 km westlich von Bathinda. Malout befindet sich im Distrikt Sri Muktsar Sahib. Zur 30 km nördlich gelegenen Distrikthauptstadt Sri Muktsar Sahib führt eine Fernstraße. Die Stadt hatte beim Zensus 2011 81.406 Einwohner. Im Norden der Stadt befindet sich der Campus des Malout Institute of Management and Information Technology (MIMIT).

Die nationalen Fernstraßen NH 10 (Fazilka–Mandi Dabwali) und NH 15 (Abohar–Bathinda) kreuzen sich in Malout. Der Bahnhof von Malout liegt an der Eisenbahnstrecke Abohar–Bathinda.

Klima

Das Klima in Malout wird als Wüstenklima bezeichnet. Das ganze Jahr über fallen geringe Mengen an Niederschlag. In den Sommermonaten Juli, August und September, während der Monsunzeit, fallen noch die meisten Niederschläge. Der durchschnittliche Jahresniederschlag beträgt 363 mm. Die Jahresmitteltemperatur liegt bei 24,6 °C.
