Joseph Chrest (* 26. Mai 1963 in St. Albans, West Virginia) ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler. Er wirkte in zahlreichen Filmen und Fernsehserien mit, darunter 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street, Oldboy, Der Butler, The Perfect Date und Stranger Things.

Leben

Joe Chrest wurde in St. Albans in West Virginia geboren und wuchs dort auf. Er besuchte die dortige High School. Seinen Bachelor-Abschluss machte er an der Marshall University. Ende der 1980er Jahre schloss er sein Masterstudium im Fach Schauspiel an der Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge ab.[1]

Chrest ist Lehrbeauftragter an der School of Theatre des College of Music & Dramatic Arts der Louisiana State University. Er unterrichtet Filmschauspiel. Seit 1992 ist er Gründungsmitglied des Swine Palace an der Louisiana State University.[2]

Für seine Nebenrolle in der Netflix-Serie Stranger Things gewann er zusammen mit der restlichen Besetzung 2017 den Screen Actors Guild Award für das beste Schauspielensemble in einer Dramaserie und wurde 2018 nochmal dafür nominiert.
