Dhamtari ist eine Stadt im indischen Bundesstaat Chhattisgarh.
Dhamtari hatte beim Zensus 2011 89.860 Einwohner. Sie ist Hauptstadt des gleichnamigen Distrikts und besitzt den Status einer Municipal Corporation.
Das Stadtzentrum liegt 4,5 km vom Nordufer der Mahanadi entfernt. Die nationale Fernstraße NH 43 führt von Dhamtari zum 60 km nordnordöstlich gelegenen Raipur.
Klima
Das Klima in Dhamtari ist tropisch. In den Sommermonaten Juni bis September, während der Monsunzeit, fallen die meisten Niederschläge. Der durchschnittliche Jahresniederschlag beträgt 1256 mm. Die Jahresmitteltemperatur liegt bei 26,4 °C.
