Vombat

Vombat je mali torbar koji ima navike glodara: kopa duge podzemne hodnike, u koje se uvlači preko dana. Uveče napušta jazbinu i traga za hranom: travom, korijenjem, korom drveta i gljivama. Iako živi u velikim grupama, nije društven i svađa se sa članovima svog "plemena".
Vombati su kratkih nogu, mišićni četveronožni tobolčari, porijeklom iz Australije, dužine oko 1 metar, sa kratkim, zdepastim repom. Oni su prilagodljivi u staništa tolerancije, a nalaze se u šumovitim, planinskim i toplim područjima u jugo-istočnoj Australiji, uključujući i Tasmaniju, kao i u izoliranom području od oko 300 hektara u Epping Forest National Park-u, središnja Queensland.
