Onosma je jedan od rodova porodice Boraginaceae, cvjetnica iz reda Boraginales, razreda Magnoliopsida, divizija Tracheophyta.[1]

Rod potječe iz mediteranskog bazena i zapadne Azije. Onozme ili oštrike rastu na suhim, osunčanim, kamenitim staništima s kamenitom i pjeskovitom podlogom.[2] Neke su popularne kao ukrasne biljke u kamenitim baščama.[3]

Procijenjeni broj vrsta kreće se u rasponu od 85,[4] 88[5] pa sve do 150.[2][6] Taksonomija roda još je nejasna, pa se očekuje njena revizija.[2]
