Manchester jest grad u engleskoj regiji Sjeverozapad. Prostire se na površini od 115 km2. Nalazi se 261 kilometar sjeverozapadno od Londona i 57 kilometara jugozapadno od Leedsa.[1] 2014. godine grad je imao više od 520.000 stanovnika.

Grad je dom dva poznata nogometna kluba: Manchester Uniteda i Manchester Cityja, kao i mnogim poznatim umjetnicima i muzičarima poput Morrisseya, New Order i Oasis.
