Lignit
Lignit ili smeđi ugalj je gorivo koje se po osobinama nalazi između treseta i uglja.[1] Smatra se ugljem niže klase, a njegova nalazišta su u Rusiji, SAD, Australiji i mnogim evropskim zemljama. Koristi se većinom kao gorivo u termoelektranama.
Osobine
Lignit je smeđe-crne boje i ima sadržaj ugljika oko 25 - 35%. Sadržaj vlage je dosta visok i može biti do 45%[2]. sadržaj pepela je od 6 - 19%. Kalorična vrijednost lignita se kreće od 10 - 20 MJ/kg u odnosu na vlažnu materiju, bez mineralnih materija. Lignit ima visok sadržaj isparljivih materija, zbog čega se lakše prevodi u gasovite i tečne produkte, u poređenju sa ugljevima više klase. Visok sadržaj vlage i sklonost prema spontanom samozapaljenju može prouzrokovati probleme pri transportu i skladištenju.
