Moždano eksprimirajući X-vezani protein 4 je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom BEX4. [5]

Ovaj gen je član porodice u mozgu eksprimirajućih X-vezanih proteina. Proteini kodirani od nekih drugih članova ove porodice djeluju kao faktori transkripcijske elongacije, koji omogućavaju RNK-polimerazi II da izbjegne pauzu tokom produživanja. Identificirano je više alternativno prerađenih varijanti, koje kodiraju isti protein.

Utvrđeno je da ovaj gen ima interakcije sa proteinom MPPED2.
