Apolipoprotein O, znan i kao protein FAM121B je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom APOO. APOO je član porodice apolipoproteina.[5]

Ljudski apolipoprotein O je 198-aminokiselinski protein, koji sadrži 23 aminokiseline dug0g signalnog peptida. Apoprotein se izlučuje pomoću mikrosomskog trigliceridnog mehanizma, ovisnog o proteinu (MTTP), vjerovatno kao VLDL-vezani protein, koji se potom prenosi u HDL. Apolipoprotein O je prvi hondroitin-sulfatni lanac koji sadrži apolipoprotein.[5]

Apolipoproteini se vežu za lipide. Članovi ove porodice promoviraju otpuštabje holesterola iz ćelijskih makrofaga. Prisutni su u različitim lipoproteinskim kompleksima, uključujući HDL, LDL i VLDL.
