Schnottwiu ligt am weschtliche Änd vom Buechiberg. Vor Gmeindsflächi si 60 % langwirtschaftlech gnutzte Bode, 32,5 % Waud, 7,4 % Sidligsflächi und 0,1 % suschtigi Flächi.[2]

Nochbergmeinde si Biezwiu u Messen im Kanton Soledurn u Wengi, Diessbach, Büre un Oberwiu im Kanton Bärn.
