Er bildet zum e groose Däil d Kantonsgränze zwüsche Basel-Stadt und Basel-Landschaft. Er mündet in dr Nööchi vo dr Kantonsgränze in Birsig, wo denn dur Stadtbasler Gebiet foot afo fliesse, kweer dur e Zolli. Mä säit, dr Naame chiem vom Doornegstrüpp am Flussufer nooch.
Ursprünglig isch dr Doorebach nordwärts dur Allschwil gflosse, wo dr Allschwilerbach in en iinegflosse isch, und isch denn diräkt in Rhii gmündet. 1873 het mä Ärde ufgschüttet und d Schützematte iigrichdet und dr Fluss isch underhalb vo Binnige in Birsig umgläitet worde. Si Iizugsgebiet isch hüte öbbe 7.5 Kwadratkilometer grooss.
