Ang Bersyong 7 ng Unix, ang Research Unix na ninuno ng lahat ng mga makabagong sistema ng Unix

Ang Unix ay isang operating system na ginawa nina Ken Thompson, Dennis Ritchie, Brian Kernighan, Douglas McIlroy, at Joe Ossanna sa Bell Labs. Unang nagsimula ang paggawa nito noong 1969 at unang manwal ay nailathala sa loob lamang ng pananaliksik na lugar noong Nobyembre 1971 (1971-11)[1] at inanunsyo sa labas ng Bell Labs noong Oktubre 1973 (1973-10).[2]
