Orinoco

The Ilog ng Orinoco o Orinoco ay ang isa sa pinakamahahabang mga ilog sa Timog Amerika na may habang 2,140 km, (1,330 mga milya). Ang desagweng hukayo nito, na minsang tinatawag na Orinoquia, ay sumasakop ng 880,000 km², na 76.3% ang nasa Beneswela at ang ibang natitira ay nasa Colombia. Mga pangunahing sistema ng transportasyon para sa silangan at panloob na bahagi ng Beneswela at ng llanos ng Colombia ang Orinoco at mga tributaryo nito; subalit dahil bumababa na ang nabigasyon o paglilibut-libot sa ilog sa bawat bansa, marami sa mga lumang daanang-tubig sa kahabaan ng mga lupang imbakan o tinggalan ng tubig ng Orinoco ang kasalukuyang isa nang obstakulo o balakid sa mga komunikasyong panglupa, sa halip na magamiting mga rutang pangkomersyo.
