Ang kometa, kometin, bandos[1] o buntala (mula sa tala na may buntot)[1][2] ay isang Maliit na Katawan ng Sistemang Solar na umoorbita sa Araw at, kapag malapit na sa Araw, nagkakaroon ito ng nakikitang koma (atmospera) o isang buntot — parehong mula sa epekto ng radyasyong solar sa ibabaw ng kabuuran (nucleus) ng buntala. Koleksiyon ng yelo, alikabok at maliit na mabatong tipik ang kabuuran ng buntala na sumusukat ng ilang kilometro o sampung kilometro ang haba.
