Histamina

Ang histamina (Ingles: histamine) ay isang uri ng kemikal na natatagpuan sa mga lamuymoy ng mga halaman at mga hayop. Nakapagdurulot ito ng pagkabanat ng pinakamaliit na mga sisidlan ng dugo. Nakapagpapasigla rin ito ng paggawa ng mga katas sa tiyan. Iniuugnay sa paglabas ng histamina mula sa mga selula ang pagkakaroon ng mga tugong pang-alerhiya. Tinatawag na mga anti-histamina ang mga gamot na lumalaban sa mga epekto ng paglabas ng histamina.[1] Karamihan sa histamine sa katawan ay nalilikha sa mga granule sa mga mast cell at sa mga white blood cell (leukocytes) na tinatawag na basophils. Ang mga mast cell ay lalong marami sa mga lugar na maaaring magkaroon ng pinsala – ang ilong, bibig, at paa, mga panloob na bahagi ng katawan, at mga daluyan ng dugo.
