Hadad

Si Hadad (Ugaritiko 𐎅𐎄𐎆 Haddu) ay isang Semitikong Panghilaga-kanlurang diyos ng bagyo at ng ulan, na may kaugnayan ang pangalan at ang pinagmulan ng salita sa Akkadianong (Asiryo-Babilonyano) diyos na si Adad. Madalas na tinatawag si Hadad bilang Baʿal (Panginoon), subalit ang pamagat na ito ay ginagamit din para sa ibang mga diyos. Ang toro ay ang pansagisag na hayop para kay Hadad. Lumilitaw siyang may balbas,[1][2] na kadalasang may hawak na pamalo at kidlat habang nakasuot ng isang palamuti sa ulo na mayroong sungay ng toro.[3][4] Ipinapantay si Hadad sa Anatolianong diyos ng bagyo na si Teshub; sa Ehipsiyong diyos na si Set; sa Griyegong diyos na si Zeus; at sa Romanong diyos na si Hupiter, bilang si Jupiter Dolichenus.
