Ang HTTPS (tinatawag ding HTTP sa TLS,[1][2] HTTP sa SSL,[3] at Secure na HTTP[4][5]) ay isang protocol para sa secure na komunikasyon sa loob ng isang computer network. Malawak ang gamit nito sa Internet. Binubuo ang HTTPS ng komunikasyon sa pamamagitan ng Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) sa loob ng isang koneksyong naka-encrypt gamit ang Transport Layer Security o Secure Sockets Layer. Ang pangunahing motibo sa paggamit ng HTTPS ay ang pagpapatotoo (authentication) ng binisitang website at proteksyon ng privacy at integridad ng nagpapalitang data.

Sa tanyag nitong pag-deploy sa internet, nagbibigay ang HTTPS ng pagpapatotoo ng website at ng kaugnay na web server sa nakikipag-ugnayan dito upang maiwasan ang mga man-in-the-middle attack. Naiiwasan din nito ang pasubok na pakikinig (eavesdropping) at paggalaw sa impormasyon sa pamamagitan ng pag-encrypt sa data ng parehong client at server.[6]

Dati ay pinakalaganap ang koneksyong HTTPS sa mga serbisyong may kinalaman sa mga sensitibong impormasyon, tulad sa online payment, e-mail, at pagkorporasyong impormasyon. Sa pagdating ng 2010, nagsimula nang lumaganap ang HTTPS sa iba't ibang uri ng website upang mapanatili ang pribasiya sa World Wide Web.

Kasaysayan

Nilikha ng Netscape Communications ang HTTPS noong 1994 para sa web browser nitong Netscape Navigator.[7] Sa simula ay ginamit ang HTTPS kasama ang protocol na SSL. Nang mag-evolve na ang SSL patungongTransport Layer Security (TLS), pormal nang tinukoy noong Mayo 2000 sa RFC 2818 ang kasalukuyang bersyon ng HTTPS.
