Cyborg

Ang isang cyborg ( /ˈsaɪbɔːrɡ/), pinaikling "cybernetic organism", ay isang nilalang na may parehong organiko at biyomekatronikong bahagi ng katawan. Nilikha ang katawagan noong 1960 nina Manfred Clynes at Nathan S. Kline.[1]

Hindi pareho ang cyborg sa bionic, biorobot o android; tumutukoy ito sa isang organismo na napanumbalik ang paggana nito o napabuti ang mga kakayahan dahil sa pagsasama ng ilang artipisyal na bahagi o teknolohiya na umaasa sa isang parang feedback (o balik-tugon).[2] Habang karaniwang inaakala na mga mamalya, kabilang ang tao, ang mga cyborg, maari din siyang isipin na kahit anong organismo.

Sa Cyborg: Evolution of the Superman ni D. S. Halacy noong 1965, tinampok ang isang pagpakilala na sinasabi ang isang "bagong hangganan" na "hindi lamang espasyo, ngunit mas malalim sa ugnayan sa pagitan ng 'panloob na espasyo' sa 'panlabas na espasyo' – isang tulay...sa pagitan ng isip at materya."[3]
