Si Carlos S. Bulusan ay tubong Binalonan, Pangasinan. Isinilang siya noong 2 Nobyembre 1911 at namatay noong 11 Setyembre 1956 sa Seattle, Washington, Estados Unidos

Ilan sa kanyang mga nasulat ang America Is In the Heart (1946), Chorus From America (1942) at The laughter of My Father (1944).

Ang kanyang nobelang "America Is In the Heart" ay isa sa mga nobelang nagpakita ng paghihirap ng mga immigranteng Pilipino mula sa pang-aabuso ng mga Amerikano at ang mga karanasan ni Bulosan bilang isang manggagawa sa Amerika. Ang nobelang ito ay hindi gaanong pinuri ng mga Pilipino noon sapagkat inilathala ito noong 1946 (panahon kung saan naging malaya na ang Pilipinas mula sa mga Amerikano).[3]
