HughesNet

HughesNet (в 1996—2001 гг. — DirecPC, в 2001—2006 гг. — Direcway[1]) — бренд, под которым компания Hughes Network Systems предоставляет услуги спутниковой связи VSAT. Терминалы HughesNet позволяют обеспечить скорость до 48 Мбит/с, доступ в Интернет/Интранет, телефонию, высокую степень безопасности. Система Direcway предоставляет пользователям широкий набор мультисервисных услуг.

В 2005 году Hughes Network Systems с привлечением Ассоциации телекоммуникационной промышленности[англ.] пролоббировала принятие Европейским институтом телекоммуникационных стандартов стандарта «Internet Protocol over Satellite» (IP по спутнику), основанного на радиоинтерфейсе Direcway[2].
