Daedalic Entertainment — немецкий издатель и в прошлом разработчик компьютерных игр из Гамбурга, получивший широкую известность благодаря приключенческим играм Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, The Whispered World и Deponia. С апреля 2022 года Daedalic входит в состав французской компании Nacon. С июля 2023 года Daedalic выступает только в качестве издателя.
История
Daedalic основали Карстен Фихтельман, до этого — директор по маркетингу издателя dtp entertainment, и геймдизайнер Ян Мюллер-Михаэлис. В 2007 году пара взяла за основу дипломную работу Мюллера-Михаэлиса «Компьютерные игры, как нелинейный нарратив» и, работая дома у Фихтельмана, превратила её в Edna & Harvey: The Breakout. Историю о маленькой девочке Эдне со своим говорящим плюшевым кроликом Харви бегут из психиатрической больницы.
По итогам 2008 года немецкий журнал GameStar, а также сайт 4Players.de выбрали Edna & Harvey: The Breakout «Квестом года». После быстрого успеха студия выпустила The Whispered World (2009). В 2010 году за ней последовала A New Begining, а в 2012 году Daedalic запустила фантастическую серию Deponia.
В 2009 и 2013 годах Daedalic получила премию German Developer Award в номинации «Студия года»[3][4].
В феврале 2022 года французская компания Nacon объявила о своем намерении приобрести Daedalic посредством покупки всех контрольных акций компании за сумму около 60 млн $[5][6]. Сделка состоялась в апреле 2022 года[7].
В июне 2023 года Daedalic закрыла своё подразделение, уволив при этом 25 из более чем 90 сотрудников компании. Причиной закрытия стали неудовлетворительные результаты и плохие показатели последней игры студии, которую она разрабатывала самостоятельно, — The Lord of the Rings: Gollum[8][9][10][11].
