Robert Luketic (em croata : Luketić ; Sydney, 1 de novembro de 1973) é um cineasta, produtor e roteirista australiano. Seus filmes incluem Legallly Blonde (2001), Monster-in-Law (2005), 21 (2008), Killers (2010) e Paranoia (2013).

Biografia

Robert Luketic nasceu em Sydney em 1 de novembro de 1973, sendo o mais velho de dois filhos.[1][2] Ele tem uma irmã mais nova chamada Marie.[3]

Luketic começou a fazer curtas-metragens na adolescência e posteriormente estudou na Escola de Cinema e Televisão do Victorian College of Arts (VCA).

Carreira

Ele chamou a atenção de Hollywood pela primeira vez com seu premiado curta-metragem Titsiana Booberini, escrito por Tania Lacy. Depois de ser exibido com grande aclamação em vários festivais na Austrália, Titsiana Booberini tornou-se um sucesso em muitos festivais de renome internacional, incluindo o Festival de Cinema de Sundance.[4] Ganhou o prêmio de "Melhor Filme" no Aspen Shortsfest.[5]

Luketic dirigiu a comédia Legalmente Loira para a MGM no verão de 2001. Este filme, que arrecadou quase 100 milhões de dólares no mercado interno[6] e foi indicado a dois Globos de Ouro[7], marcou a estreia de Luketic na direção de longas-metragens.

Em seguida, Luketic dirigiu o filme da DreamWorks Pictures, "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!". Em 2008, a Luketic lançou 21, baseado no livro Bringing Down the House de Ben Mezrich. O filme é estrelado por Kevin Spacey, Kate Bosworth, Jim Sturgess e Laurence Fishburne.[10]

Ele dirigiu a comédia romântica The Ugly Truth, que estreou em julho de 2009. Estrelado por Katherine Heigl e Gerard Butler. Em seguida, Luketic dirigiu a comédia de ação Killers, estrelada por Heigl e Ashton Kutcher.

Em agosto de 2024, foi anunciado que Luketic irá dirigir All Out of Love: The Air Supply Story (uma cinebiografia sobre a banda australiana Air Supply), para o Altit Media Group.[11]
