Mandevilla laxa, comumente conhecida como jasmim chileno, [3] é uma planta ornamental do gênero Mandevilla da família Apocynaceae .

M. laxa é nativa do sul do Equador, Peru, Bolívia e norte da Argentina . [3] Cresce como uma videira e é decídua em climas frios. Pode crescer até 6 metros (20 pés) de altura. Massas de flores brancas fortemente perfumadas são produzidas no verão. Como não é totalmente resistente e não sobrevive ao congelamento, em zonas temperadas deve ser cultivada com a proteção de vidro, em uma estufa ou conservatório sem aquecimento, com luz solar plena. No Reino Unido, ganhou o Prêmio de Mérito de Jardim da Royal Horticultural Society . [4] [5]

Apesar do nome comum "jasmim chileno", a espécie não é um verdadeiro jasmim do gênero Jasminum .
