James Jose Rowley

James Jose Rowley (Bronx, 14 de outubro de 1908 – Leisure World, 1 de novembro de 1992) foi um funcionário público do Governo dos Estados Unidos e diretor do Serviço Secreto entre 1961 e 1973, sob os Presidentes Kennedy, Johnson e Nixon.[1]

Rowley tinha de facto estado a trabalhar para os serviços secretos desde a administração Roosevelt, após entrar para o FBI em 1936 e depois mudando-se para os Serviços Secretos em 1938, tornando-se Diretor em 1961.[1] Em 18 de junho de 1964, Rowley prestou depoimento à Comissão Warren, que investigava o assassinato de John F. Kennedy. Após o assassinato, o treinamento do Serviço Secreto foi regularizado e sistematizado. O Centro de Treinamento James J. Rowley, em Beltsville, Maryland, leva seu nome. Rowley morreu de insuficiência cardíaca congestiva em sua casa em Leisure World, Maryland.[2]
