Gorehabba

Gorehabba (em canarês: ಗೋರೆಹಬ್ಬ) é um festival folclórico hindu local celebrado numa vila chamada Gumatapura, uma vila de língua canaresa que fica na fronteira compartilhada por Carnataca e Tâmil Nadu.[1][2][3] Gumatapura, também grafada como Gumatapur, fazia parte anteriormente do distrito de Chamarajanagar em Carnataca e foi transferida para Tamil Nadu após a Lei de Reorganização dos Estados.[4][5][6]

Dedicado a Beerappa, um deus adorado pela comunidade Kurubas. É celebrado um dia após o Bali Padyami do Diwali, em que o festival envolve as pessoas brincam, jogando ou espalhando esterco de vaca uns nos outros como parte de uma tradição ritual local.[7][8]
