Barbara Ellen Kingsolver (Annapolis (Maryland, 8 de abril de 1955) é uma escritora, ensaísta e poetisa norte-americana vencedora do Prémio Pulitzer. As suas obras mais conhecidas incluem The Poisonwood Bible, a história de uma família missionária no Congo, Demon Copperhead, de 2003, com que recebeu o Prémio Pulitzer de Ficção.[1] [2]

Os seus livros frequentemente abordam temas como justiça social, biodiversidade e a interação entre humanos, as suas comunidades e o meio ambiente.

Kingsolver recebeu inúmeros prémios, incluindo o Premio Richard C. Holbrooke de Realização Distinta do Prémio Literário da Paz de Dayton, em 2011 e a Medalha Nacional de Humanidades.
