Vulcano

Vista dau cratèr principau

Vulcano es un volcan insulari actiu situat au nòrd de Sicília en la Mar Tirrèna dins leis Illas Eolianas. De tipe explosiu, l'illa a una superficia de 21 km² e una altitud maximala de 499 m. Pasmens, es la cima emergida d'un estratovolcan que sa basa si situa a 1 000 de prefondor[1]. Sa darriera erupcion importanta si debanèt de 1888 a 1890. Es importanta dins l'istòria de la volcanologia car venguèt la referéncia deis erupcions vulcanianas, un tipe d'erupcion definit per d'explosions violentas, de projeccions de bombas e la formacion d'un plumacho volcanic. Uei, l'activitat generala dau volcan es febla mai li a encara mai d'una fumarola dins lo cratèr. De fònts caudas son tanben presentas sus l'illa.
