Van Halen es un grop musical estatunidenc de hard rock, originari de Pasadena, en Califòrnia, actiu entre 1972 e 2020. Lo nom del grop es simplament lo del guitarrista d'origina olandesa que l'a fondat, Eddie Van Halen.

Lor primièr cantaire, lo carismatic David Lee Roth, s'es impausat coma un vertadièr showman. Es estat ponctualament remplaçat al cant per Sammy Hagar entre 1985 e 1996, puèi entre 2003 e 2005, e per Gary Cherone entre 1996 e 1999.

De 1978 a 1998 lo grop a sortit dotze albums, totes classats als Estats Units. Van Halen a vendut mai de 75 milions d'albums capvath lo mond entièr.
