Texas sus l'empont a Lorient en Bretanha en 2011

Texas ès un grop anglofòn de pop ròck escocés fondat en 1985 a Glasgow (Escòcia). Lor musica es passada d'un son blues ròck sus lor primièr album Southside (1989) al disco pop sus lor album Red Book (2005).

Texas es estat format en decembre de 1985 per la cantaira Sharleen Spiteri[1], lo guitarrista Ally McErlaine, lo bassista Johnny McElhone e lo bataire Stuart Kerr.

Lor nom « Texas » es un omenatge al film París Tèxas de Wim Wenders, sortit en 1984.

Lor primièr concèrt es estat balhat en març de 1988 a l'Universitat de Dundee en Escòcia.

Lo grop s'es fach conéisser en 1989 amb lo single I Don't Want a Lover, extrach de lor primièr album Southside, album que s'es vendut a dos milions d'exemplars capvath lo monde entièr, e lor cançon la mai coneguda se ditz Summer son, gròs tube a la fin de l'annada de 1999.[2]
