La silvita ò silvina[1] es un minerau incolòr a l'estat pur ò tintat de divèrsei colors (violet ò roge generalament) en preséncia d'impuretats de fèrre. A una duretat de 2,0-2,5 e una densitat de 1,993. Es format de clorur de potassi (simbòl quimic : KCl) cristallizat segon un sistèma cubic de classa exacisoctaedric. Dins la natura, la silvita s'observa generalament sota la forma de cristaus cubics ò de massas microcristallinas.

Es generalament associat a la sau gemma dins de depaus sedimentaris d'origina marina. Pus rarament, es un produch de sublimacion eissit d'una activitat volcanica. Regardant seis utilizacions, es lo minerau de potassi pus important e pòu tanben servir de fertilizant.
